Important: This tool provides an automated estimate based on the most common rules under Texas Chapter 55A and 411 — it is not legal advice and does not establish an attorney-client relationship. Texas record-clearing law contains many exceptions (e.g., specific Statutes of Limitations for theft/forgery/assault, judicial discretion, federal background-check rules). Expunction vs. Nondisclosure

Two powerful tools. The calculator above tells you which one you qualify for — and whether you can pursue both.

Expunction ERASES RECORD

What you can say: "I have never been arrested or charged." Legally and completely.

Why it's strongest: All records are ordered destroyed and permanently deleted across every Texas agency.

Qualifies: Dismissals, acquittals, pretrial diversions, no-bills, certain deferred adjudications.

Nondisclosure SEALS RECORD

What you can say: "I am not required to disclose this" for most jobs, apartments, and loans.

Key exception: FBI / fingerprint-based checks may still access sealed records. Applies mainly to licensed professions.

Qualifies: Completed deferred adjudication for most non-violent offenses.
